Preliminary task evaluation
For our preliminary task we were asked to make a short video clip with different types of camera angels and cutting techniques. Our video clip was about a murder and an interrogation. For this project we had some technical difficulties while filming. We originally tried filming with out a microphone, however that did not work as the audio was to low to hear the actors. We then tried using a microphone which was held over the actors heads while they acted out the scene, again this did not go well as we did not check if the microphone was working, so we filmed all of the video and while editing realised there was no audio. so we then had to re-film the whole video the following lesson, this went better however the audio did go in one of my scenes. Things that i think we could have worked better on in this task would be making sure that the audio is working, that we remove any distracting object in the background that will draw away from the video and the camera angels.

Film Techniques
Match on Action:
Match on action is a film technique used by film editors, this is where the editor cuts from one shot to another shot, which will then match the first shot, so that the clip runs through smoothly without being able to see the cut. an example of this would be when a character walks toward a door and reaches to turn the handle, it then cuts to the other side of the door, where the character then opens. In this type of cutting the two shots may have been filmed several hours apart and it will not be obvious is the clip.
Shot reverse shot:
Shot reverse shot is another film technique used in editing, this type of cutting is, used in either very serious moments or during a conversation between two people. The cut goes from one shot of a person and then cuts to the person who they are talking to, so that they can respond. An example of this may be in a romantic scene when it goes for a shot of a man confessing is love to the woman and so it will start on him as he is talking and then move to the women when she talks this continues throughout the scene.
180 degree rule:
The 180 degree rule is a basic guideline in which is regarding towards the relationship between two one screen characters. There is an imaginary line between these two people called an axis, which connects the characters by keeping the camera on one side of the axis in ever shot. The first character will always stays frame right of the other character who stay frame left. The camera is then allowed to cross the axis which is called jumping the line.
